Magical Meat Sprinkles

This is my favorite rub, and it tastes good on just about everything. This is my go-to rub for pork shoulders, but it’s also great on chicken and even beef. I keep an extra shaker around for sprinkling it on eggs, vegetables and anything that I’m about to eat. One batch will do about two pork shoulders, but why not double it to have extra seasoning on hand?

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup paprika
  • 1/4 cup black pepper corns (ground fresh)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp cayenne

Instructions

    1. Mix all ingredients well

Notes

  1. When doing pork shoulders, rub them down with this the night before you intend to smoke them.
  2. Use fresh pepper corns and grind them for your pepper.  There is a noticeable difference.
